In my Bible studies, I have personally gained much from David Pawson's omnibus edition of “Unlocking the Bible”. This is definitely not a verse-by-verse commentary but a unique overview of the whole bible and each of its books.

J. David Pawson, M.A. B.Sc is extremely knowledgeable and says some very striking things. His approach is somewhat analytical. He asks and goes on to answer such questions as: To whom was this book written?  Why was it written? What should we learn from it?  He has faced problems by giving and explaining various interpretations before stating his own conclusions with reasons.

Behind this book is a man who has greatly enjoyed being a Bible teacher.  As a much sought after speaker, many of his talks have been recorded on audio tape and/or video.

When Harper-Collins approached David with a view to publishing his material in a series of volumes, he had two huge reservations. He was not in the habit of writing out sermons in full, but always preached from notes. Also, his writing style was very different from his speaking style.

In the event, David gave all his notes, tapes, videos and transcripts to Andy Peck as a ‘ghost-writer’, to adapt the material for printing.  Andy has worked hard and this book is the result. Now we can all profit from the fruit of David’s lifetime study of God’s Word.

1,343 pages of medium-sized print in paperback at a cover price of £10.99 is extremely good value. It is also currently available from Amazon on line for £7.69

My personal recommendation comes with the hope that you will be encouraged and aided in your own study of the most important Book of all!  (2 Timothy 2:15)

I suggest this book would inspire anyone who has a serious interest in the scriptures.
